Shelter House works with programs and providers that offer sexual violence services in order to ensure victims have access to the full array of services. Shelter House was a leading force in establishing a Sexual Assault Interagency Council (SAIC) in both Okaloosa and Walton counties.
Our staff provides training to local hospital personnel, law enforcement professionals and other social service workers in an effort to educate them on what Shelter House has to offer. When all agencies providing services to rape and sexual assault victims are knowledgeable about all services provided locally, survivors are more likely to receive relevant and useful referrals that will aid in their recovery.
